Review of inspection facilities

Recently, we have been receiving requests from customers asking if we can consult with them to review their inspection equipment.
It is true that most of the people we talk to at trade shows and other events say that they are not working. However, those who say "it is working" are not interested in our company....
Most of the patterns that do not work are
1) There is an object you want to inspect
2) You ask the manufacturer to evaluate the product
3) The manufacturer responds that they can do it
(4) We place an order for a large piece of equipment
5) It does not work as expected.
This is the "what if" scenario.
What is the biggest difference between other production equipment and image inspection equipment?
"Sometimes, no matter how much we try, we can't get satisfactory results with image inspection equipment.
The object to be inspected is "a product suited for image inspection.
One of the problems is that the inspection equipment is "introduced first" without considering "whether the inspection object is suitable for image inspection or not".
Next is the "request for evaluation to the manufacturer. A report that only shows that a "certain" defect sample was detected is of no value. It is only by chance that the defect was detected, and "various defects" will occur once the product goes into actual operation. Therefore, it will fail with a single blow.
It is also a problem to suddenly build a large facility. I think it is important to start out by making the equipment as "small" as possible, for example, by placing it by hand, and then testing it. If you try it out, clarify the problems, and then go into a large facility, I think the risk can be reduced considerably.
After all, the important thing is to "try it out yourself. And I think it is essential for image manufacturers to "provide an environment where you can try it out," in other words, to "provide it as a finished product.
It doesn't matter if it is an image sensor or FlexInspector. The most reliable way is to first prepare an environment where you can try it out, find an object to be inspected that works well, and then introduce an inspection system for it.
