Principles of Imaging Inspection

For a long time, I have thought that there are many problems with "automatic XX correction" in image inspection.
Now that I think about it again, the only information available in image inspection is the "image, " and it is not known whether the correction is "caused by the image capture environment" or "caused by the inspection target. Therefore, it is impossible to deny problems such as the fact that brightness correction of a black-and-white image may actually result in "wrong color," or that automatic correction of image expansion/contraction caused by line sensor image capture may actually result in "expansion/contraction of the actual product.

As long as the same object is imaged, the image should be the same. That is, the image should be reproducible.
I believe that this is the basic principle of image inspection.
The XYθ of the line-of-sight direction can be "almost" corrected, but since lens distortion and the direction of illumination vary, the position should be mechanically aligned to some extent.
As for ambient light, it is not a matter of correcting the image but of "preventing ambient light from entering. The correct way to deal with the disturbance light is not to compensate for it in the image, but to "make sure that no disturbance light enters the image, or to make the light source bright enough so that there is almost no effect even if disturbance light enters the image.
