Blackwell support for HALCON
As GPUs continue to evolve, we are concerned about delays in software support.
Among them,
HALCON is "Blackwell-ready" with the soon-to-be-released 25.11
and.
On the other hand,
GPU suppliers have told us that "Ada generation GPUs will not be available until the end of the year.
Ada generation GPUs will only be available until the end of the year. After next year, only the Blackwell generation will be available.
So I tried Blackwell on the current HALCON24.11-Progress-Steady (24.11.2.0).
It worked up to training, inference optimization, and inference.
But I could not optimize TensorRT, I think it was a CUDA version issue.
After all,
Blackwell can be used with HALCON prior to 25.11.
However, it cannot be used with different versions of CUDA optimized for Blackwell.
This may be the reason.
I think "Progress can support Blackwell if it is raised to 25.11" would be fine,
But with Steady, 26.11 is next, and the Ada generation, which is supported, will be finished by the end of this year. That would make it completely unusable,
I hope that they will go back and support Blackwell.
