Automation of subjectivity

Automation of visual inspection is automation of subjectivity, of the senses. Similarly, using image processing, positioning, measuring and text reading are objective automation.

If it is an objective automation, the good or bad is clear, but if it is a subjective automation, it is whether it fits the sense of the field worker.

Although automation of various tasks is progressing, I believe this is the reason why only visual inspection cannot be automated as much as we would like. No matter how much research is done in the laboratory, the answer will not be found, nor will the answer be found by simply installing an image processing device selected based on catalog specifications. Furthermore, it is out of the question to make a decision to introduce a device based on specifications.

I think the only answer to automation of subjectivity is to "try it". If it feels right, I will introduce it. If it doesn't fit, don't automate it. Forced automation will only lead to unhappiness.

THE EFFECT OF COMBINING A GENERAL-PURPOSE INDUSTRIAL ROBOT WITH A VISUAL INSPECTION CAMERA THIS TIME WAS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO "TRY IT OUT. IN FACT, IN ONE SAMPLE, WE CONDUCTED N-INCREASE TRIALS OF IMAGE CAPTURE AND INSPECTION 18 TIMES FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES IN THE PRESENCE OF THE CUSTOMER TO CONFIRM THE DEFECT DETECTION CAPABILITY, GOOD QUALITY RATE, AND INSPECTION TIME, ETC., AND CONDUCTED TRIALS THAT WERE "CLOSER" TO WHAT WOULD HAPPEN AFTER THE INTRODUCTION OF THE SYSTEM.
