My trauma

As I mentioned in a recent comment, I was an actual working unit of an imaging and inspection manufacturer.
(1) "Sales" would take work that they could not do, saying that they could do it. In particular, the delivery schedule was so absurd that there were hardly any days left between the assembly and shipment of the equipment.
(2) Of course, the equipment would not work properly at the shipping stage. I often argued with my superiors that the equipment should not be shipped in such a state. However, I was told, "Delivery and acceptance inspection are immediate. We will send someone out until it works. However, the "top management" had agreed to "deliver the product immediately for inspection and send someone out until it works," so there was nothing we could do.
(3) In the end, we were held hostage and went to the site. When you go to the field, you hear the "voice of the field. It may be my nature, but when asked, "Can you do it?" I can't say "no" and end up doing it. However, it is also true that the capability of the "original hardware" was too low and it was quite tough.
(4) And when I returned to the company, I was scolded, "Why do you do things on your own?
This example may be extreme.
(1) To make something into a thing, you need people.
(2) To hire people, you need money.
(3) Because you need money, you take a job by force.
(4) It takes time to turn a job into a product because you have to take on too much work.
This vicious cycle must be broken.
If the customer appreciates the "actual product" and is satisfied with it, he or she will purchase it.
In this way, there are almost no problems after delivery.
There are almost no problems after delivery.
Therefore, there is almost no need for support.
We don't receive any unreasonable work.
Therefore, we don't need many staffs.
This means that costs can also be reduced.
This is a good cycle.
However, in our case, "profit per unit" is too low, so when we consider "profit per unit" x "number of units shipped".... This may be the biggest reason why we have not increased our workforce.
