Cost of image processing software

My cost sense after 25 years of automating visual inspection for a living.

Considering 1 inspector x 3 years, the cost of automating the visual inspection is 10 million at most.

To make it work as a business, we need to secure about 20% profit and we need to make it for 8 million.

To automate visual inspection, not only "eyes" but also "hands" must be automated, and 5 million for hand automation.

2 million for hardware such as cameras, lenses, illuminators, and computers.

I guess the remainder is "image processing software" ... not much ...

Various software companies are entering the "visual inspection" market...let's make sure we're still responsible in 10 years.
