I WENT TO THE SEMINAR INTRODUCING NEW FEATURES OF HALCON 8.0

I WENT TO THE HALCON 8.0 NEW FEATURE INTRODUCTION SEMINAR IN KYOTO.

As I mentioned before, I had already been introduced to the program and had done some preliminary study, but I was hungry. It was the first seminar in a while where I felt the importance of "preparation".

So, how was 8.0? It was a major version up, and it seemed like a big evolution. Compared to the recent versions, which seemed to be "running on MVTec's hobby," it seemed to be a meaningful evolution focusing on improving the basic strength of the system.

I just dare to complain bitterly.

IT IS TRUE THAT HALCON IS THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL FOR BUILDING IMAGE PROCESSING ALGORITHMS. MANY PEOPLE WILL LOOK AT THAT SEMINAR AND THINK, "I CAN DO ANYTHING.

But I don't think the actual field is so sweet. Who will operate the system? Can defects be detected 100% of the time? and other restrictions, I am not sure if there is an answer beyond that. I feel that we are running so far into technical theory that we are losing sight of the essence of image inspection.

However, FlexInspector is built on the benefits of that HALCON....
